25 Nov 2007 – Yew Tee Scrabble Open Championship 2007
* 30 Nov-2 Dec 2007 – 6th Causeway Challenge, Zon Regency Hotel JB
* 4-6 Dec 2007 – 2007 World Youth Scrabble Championship, Zon Regency Hotel JB
Camp has ended and it went fine, no mishaps or major hiccups so it’s alright. I am grateful to the camp staff who worked extremely hard to ensure the juniors had as great a camp as they could possibly have, as well as the weather for compromising for a few days, only letting the rain fall after it ended :).
Now I gotta focus on the three events above.. there isn’t much rest time in between so it’s going to be extremely tight. Obviously I hope to do better in the last two events, but my skill/ confidence level isn’t going to help me much. The field for all three events are not easy with seasoned players and WSC representatives lurking all around (with good finishers trying to repeat their performance, and poor finishers doubling up to improve on it). I probably have to hope for a stroke of luck like what happened last JG mini in order to have a decent finishing. Realistically I aim to finish in the top 5 for all 3 competitions.
With the conclusion of the WSC it appears there are quite a few reports (of the games or the environment in Mumbai) floating around the Internet, but there isn’t much analysis (yet) of the annotated games available online. This can partially be attributed to the fact that the most analytic players qualified for WSC themselves! If I have the time maybe I will take out one or two games and look at them.
I have added another poll onto the blog, please cast your votes!
